Summary

All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome takes a playful look at Asperger Syndrome (AS), drawing inspiration from the feline world in a way that will strike a chord with all those who are familiar with AS.
Delightful color photographs of cats bring to life familiar characteristics such as sensitive hearing, scampering at the first sign of being stroked and particular eating habits.
Touching, humorous and insightful, this book evokes the difficulties and joys of raising a child who is different and leaves the reader with a sense of the dignity, individuality and potential of people with AS.
This engaging book is an ideal, gentle introduction to the world of AS.

Cute.

As a special education teacher and a cat lover, I certainly agree that cats have autism. The book is cute and a little silly, but certainly nothing profound.

Impressive to a skeptic

My husband liked this book even though he has been reluctant to accept our daughter's AS. I plan to send a copy to school and keep one on hand to help others who enter our life to understand our daughter's endearing yet odd behaviors. We have not read it with our daughter yet but find it interesting that our daughter is obsessed with cats. I look forward to her reaction.

All cats have aspergers

This is a great book for children and young teens with Asperger's and can provide a fun, fresh view for caregivers as well.

Totally awesome way to introduce the topic of Aspbergers to someone. Completely appropriate way to open discussion with a child who feels different and affirm understanding of that difference. At the most superficial level is just a cute read, well done.

Great tool for explaining Asperger's to my 6 year old

I loved this book. My son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome earlier this year. I was looking for books for me and came across this one. After the doctor's appointment where the doctor explained to him that he had Asperger's, we came home and we read this book. It is written in very simple terms and essentially equates some cat qualities with Asperger's qualities (like to be alone, do their own thing, etc). It really puts a positive spin on it. I think it would be good for a 5 year old to a 9 year old. My son took a bit of time, and a lot of discussions with us, to get his head around what Asperger's means, and this book helped a lot. I highly recommend it.
