Summary:

In this classic novel of two willful lovers caught in a breathless adventure of deception and betrayal, #1 New York Times bestselling author Judith McNaught has created a powerful and unforgettable masterpiece.

ELIZABETH CAMERON
The Countess of Havenhurst possessed a rare gentleness and fierce courage to match her exquisite beauty. But her reputation is shattered when she is discovered in the arms of Ian Thornton, a notorious gambler and social outcast.

IAN THORNTON
A dangerously handsome man of secret wealth and mysterious lineage, his voyage to Elizabeth's heart is fraught with intrigue, scandal, and a venomous revenge.

Destined for each other, yet wary of each other's motives, Elizabeth and Ian engage in a dance of suspicion and passion that tests the very soul of their star-crossed love. As a twisting path of secrets takes them from London's drawing rooms to the mysterious Scottish Highlands, Elizabeth must learn the truth: is Ian merely a ruthless fortune hunter at heart?

LOVE THIS BOOK!
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
Judith McNaught is an extremely talented author. She has an amazing gift! I am drawn into her stories, her characters, and her vivid decriptions of emotion that she makes you feel with all your heart and soul. Throughout this book I caught myself laughing, crying, flushed, and wrought with emotion. My heart actually lept more than once and it was all I could do to remember to breathe. Almost Heaven is an absolutely amazing, wonderful love story filled with suspense and breath taking scenes. One of my favorite scenes is Ian & Elizabeth's first kiss and what Ian said after that kiss (I won't spoil it). My cheeks had flushed at that raw emotion. The whole book is exactly that...raw emotion, intimate in every way, and will leave your heart pounding!

Brilliantly Enchanting

Interesting, wonderful chemistry, twists and turns, and pure bliss. I loved this book when I read it years ago and I reread it again recently just to go back over what it was that made me just SIGH....Loved it

5 Stars....and MORE!
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
I loved this book! I fell in love with the characters instantly, especially the hero....aaahhh. I have also fallen in love with McNaught's stories. I didn't like the first book I read by her and so I didn't buy any more until just recently. I was starved for some good books and decided to try again based on the reviews. I am happy to say I am now well sated after having read four of her books in the past week (Whitney, My Love, Something Wonderful, Once and Again and Alomost Heaven - I highly recommend them all). In between I read 2 others by different authors which seemed to fall flat in comparison. Almost Heaven was filled with emotion and I felt it right along with the characters. The story is heart-wrenching, humorous, loving and sexy - everything that a great romance novel entails. I laughed at times, ached at times and longed at times. McNaught's heroines may be sexually ignorant, but I love it that they are not dimwits. Rather they are intelligent without being stiff backed and annoying. Beautiful Story!

Such a good book

I am really surprised by how good this story was. I've have only read one other book by Judith Mcnaught and this one was so much better. I could not stop reading and the characters were just perfect. I loved both of them. Ian was just an incredible hero. To many times, you like the hero and not the heroine or vice versa but this was good. This story has everything that I love in romance.
