Designed to give students an up-close and personal view of history, American History First Hand: Working with Primary Sources offers students the opportunity to experience written documents, visual materials, material culture artifacts, and maps--the materials historians actually work with to decipher the past. In each volume there are 12 archives, and each archive contains loose facsimiles for students to explore.
