Another good read by Massad Ayoob

Actual writings of past gun battles that involved citizens with concealed carry or law enforcement. This book goes into what happens after the shooting, personal experiences and civil matters.

An excellent book! Easy to read and very informative. A must read for anyone concerned with protecting their family.
Not What I Thought

The book is good but focuses a lot of space on the Rodney King incident that had nothing to do with personal defense shooting by civilians or law enforcement.
The other issue with the book is that the stories date back to before many of the modern ballistics or newer handgun calibers such as the .40 - so much of the discussion concerning older .38 or 9 mm rounds are not relevant to the way the new self defense rounds perform.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It sure gave me a lot to think about when reading about the aftermath of shooting someone!
This is a really educational book

This book does a great job of exploring a number of gunfights (many of which involved law enforcement officers), and analyzes what was done right and what was done wrong.
When I was finished with the book, I passed it along to our Police Department training officer for use in training officers.
