Grade 5-9This oversized novelty book has a gold cover with red, plastic, "jewel" inlays to add to the drama. Written as an amateur Egyptologist's travel journal from 1926, each spread covers a distinct area of antiquity and is mainly factual in content, except for the author's chatty asides. The type resembles that of an old manual typewriter and the photos, reproductions, and sketches make the journal seem more realistic. There are papyrus pullouts, pop-up art, minibooks, and foldout maps and an envelope in the back with period postcards, ticket stubs, etc.
Fun, Intriguing Book

The Egyptology book was snapped up by my students and they loved it. It was quite enjoyable to them and they read more than they often do in books. The big eye was really interesting to them. |

Not as good as I expected
| Customer Rating:  | | I was actually disappointed in this Ology book. I have two others and the way the information is presented in them plus the little extras were just better in those. There weren't as many exciting extras in this one as I expected and the "mummy cloth" example was a bit disappointing. I bought this for my daughter and she became bored quickly due to the confusing way the pages were written and presented. I am hoping the next Ology I choose will be more like the first two I have. |

| Customer Rating: | | I had been looking at this book for about a year and was on the fence about buying it. The main reason was because it was 20-25 dollars everywhere. When I saw it for under 14 on Amazon I knew it was a bargain! It's wrapped up safe under my tree and I know my daughter will love it! |
