If you have ever struggled with converting grams to slugs, centistokes to square feet per second, or pounds per million gallons (lbm/MG) to milligrams per liter (mg/L), you will appreciate the time-saving value of this book. More than 4500 entries covering traditional English, conventional metric, and SI units in the fields of civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering make conversions a snap. Industrial Revolution. Simply Changed Mankind. | Customer Rating: | | But the problem with capitalism, is that in the case of AT & T, the government, forgot a basic rule laisez-faire, and did not allow monopoly to move into globalization and therefore in the future capitalism may face a altered future. My suggestion! as we all know information has a price! | As necessary as a calculator | Customer Rating: | | The book covers every conversion that will ever be needed and most professors will allow it in the classroom. It saves time and prevents simple math errors from lengthy conversions. | Excellent | Customer Rating: | This is an excellent book and a must-have for anyone interested in science, engineering and in some cases even history. It uses the format: Unit -- Multiplied by - Gives, for a very wide range of English, Metric and obscure units. It gives the units in both directions, i.e., inches are given in terms of centimeters (also meters, kilometers, chains, links (both Gunter's and Ramesden's) and centimeters are given in terms of inches. It covers obscure units (such as cubits, langleys, douziemes and many, many, more). I said that people interested in history would be interested in this book. Where else could you find that a barleycorn multiplied by 48 gives one douzieme, or multiplied by 0.33333 gives one inch, or that one cubit multiplied by 1.5 equals one foot. | might be useful for PE exam, definately for work | Customer Rating: | | Very comprehensive, lots of unusual units. | This book is a tool, nothing more, nothing less | Customer Rating: | I despise conversions, and I tend to make mistakes doing them. This book is so straightforward and logical that I wouldn't dream going into a P.E. or F.E. exam without it!
