Featuring: Technical hints; Great (knitted) things you will do; How to cope with disaster; Must-knit tv; Mistakes you will definitely make; Knitting for the common good; Knitting something that looks like something else Inspires creativity | Customer Rating: | What a fun book. The Mason-Dixon gals witty and clever and their patterns (mostly directions and suggestions) give new perspective to knitting. I made the "calamari" bath mat (a blast) and I am working on a log cabin blanket (beautiful and easy) and a ball band dishcloth (love slip stitch colorwork) right now.
This would be an excellent book for a newby knitter because it teaches useful techniques (picking up stitches, using multiple colors and types of yarn, encourages design) and a way to make things that don't really look like beginner projects.

I come back to them over and over. I have also forced my addiction onto others who now know where my addiction comes from. The ballband dishcloth, the burp cloth, the mitar square - how did I live without these in my knitting world? I have made the patterns in the book as well as making modifications to them over and over. You will never get sick of this one. I will treasure this book FOREVER! Get this book - you won't be sorry!
