Definitely need this! | Customer Rating: | | Microsoft has outdone itself yet again. Both the 2007 Office for PC and the 2008 Office for Mac have unraveled much of what was good, clear, intuitive, and simple in the earlier versions and tangled it all up into arcane and hidden "toolboxes". For example, in Word, I had to look up ( ! ) how to change margins -- 'Page setup' just doesn't do it any more. Same for headers and footers -- the problem there was to look up how to get out of them. Unbelievable. And this is, thank God, for a Mac -- I can't even imagine dealing with Office 2007 AND Vista at the same time! God. I need an aspirin just thinking about it. So this manual is absolutely necessary if you want to write a document and actually have some control over formatting. I don't use Excel but I hear tell the new respective versions are also completely screwed up -- er, I mean, 'improved.' And, needless to say, don't even try to use the 'Help' menu -- completely useless. The manual is a must. Don't 'upgrade' without it. |
