Summary:
Dear Reader,
Life is great for me. I have my chicory coffee, my warm beignets, and my best friend on the cell phone. Once the sun goes down, I am the baddest thing prowling the night: I command the elements, and I know no fear. For centuries, I've protected the innocent and watched over the mankind, making sure they are safe in a world where nothing is ever certain. All I want in return is a hot babe in a red dress, who wants nothing more from me then one night.
Instead, I get a runaway Mardi Gras float that tries to turn me into roadkill and a beautiful woman who saves my life but can't remember where she put my pants. Flamboyant and extravagant, Sunshine Runningwolf should be the perfect woman for me. She wants nothing past tonight, no ties, no long-term commitments.
But every time I look at her, I start yearning for dreams that I buried centuries ago. With her unconventional ways and ability to baffle me, Sunshine is the one person I find myself needing. But for me to love her would mean her death. I am cursed never to know peace or happiness-not so long as my enemy waits in the night to destroy us both.
--Talon of the Morrigantes

If your a Kenyon fan this book is a must have. Kenyons style of humor, imagery, and the great contrast of things aren't always what they seem creates a wonderful story that you will read over and over.

LOVE THIS SERIES. WISH I WOULD HAVE STARTED IN ORDER, WOULD HAVE MADE IT EVEN MORE INTERESTING. I WILL GO BACK AND RE-READ THE ONES IN ORDER THAT I ALREADY HAVE. CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE FROM MISS KENYON.

An enjoyable read. Good story line, very sexy characters, with a warped twist of humor. I like Kenyon's style very much.

This book took me forever, I mean FOREVER to read. I actually feel bad for Talon. Why, you ask? He had to follow up Kyrian's story, which totally rocked. This book fell flat for me and I really didn't want it to. I didn't feel the romance was the main focus of the story, and even though I loved the fact that Talon and Sunshine had a great connection, I did not get that dreamy, Ahh, after finishing it. I immediately put it on PBS for a book credit. Don't get me wrong, I love the Dark Hunter series, and this book makes Archeron even more of a mystery, building up his book, which is still oodles away. I am slowly making my way there. I have Dance with the Devil, Zarek's story from the library in my possession. Can anyone tell me if it's better than Talon's story? If you read Night Embrace book, let me know what your thoughts were!

I like this story but...

I liked this second book in the Dark Hunter series but I feel sheryln Kenyon should have stuck to the original plot she came up with for this book. If no one knows what I am talking about then you should read the preview for Night Embrace that was in Night Pleasures when it first came out because the beginning was entirely different than the one she came out with. First there were no gods working with Styxx and he wanted Sunshine because she had the ability of foresight and regression. Ms. Kenyon gave the impression that the daemons were targeting humans with specific paranormal powers but she changed it when Night Embrace came out. I'm not saying the book was bad, it was good I just think she should have stuck with what she originally planned for this story. I like her other dark hunter novels but if you would read the stories carefully from the first to the last you will see that Ms. Kenyon begins to subtly change her characters. It is subtle but it is there. She changes their personalities and their histories except in Night Play which is my favorite. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but I sure did.
