My seven-year old son loves to read and re-read the adventures of this funny, "knock-knee'd", too-cute-for-his-own-good, squirrel! You can't help but fall in serious-like with this little guy! Melanie Watt has a great knack for storytelling and we are so excited that there are two more in this series! Plus, the pictures are colorful and the story is easy to follow. This is a book that you can read again and again, and it'll make you laugh and smile every time! Go Scaredy Squirrel! You can do it! |

It is the right combination of cute illustrations, slightly irreverent writing, and a simple but terrific message about going beyond your usual routine and what that might bring. It's great for kids of all ages! |

A sophisticated, yet fun book to read with your child

It gave me a chuckle when I read it at the bookstore, and every time I've read it to my daughter, I've continued to smile and laugh at the story (as does my daughter). After reading piles of vacuous books about Dora, Max and Ruby, and My Little Pony, this one can revive a parent's delivery that has become less than animated over time. My daughter is three, relates to Scaredy Squirrel being scared of the unknown, and enjoys the subtle reinforcements of the days of the week and the reading time off of a clock. The book's sense of humor is sophisticated but accessible. Highly recommended. |
