How to be a vampire 101
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
Some of my favorite books involve characters learning something new: novice magicians, newly made vampires, people that discover new powers, etc. This is one of those books, with a mystery and a plot twist to boot. I figured out who the bad guy was before they explained it, but thankfully the book ended soon after it, so there was no drawn out nonsense. I loved the ending that hints at what is to come. I can't wait to find out more about Casper, Max, and Anna. The best thing about this book is that every time I had to put it down I couldn't wait to pick it back up. I couldn't wait to find out more, and I wasn't let down. Great start to a new series, one that I will definitely continue reading.

predictable vampire junk

Bad, bad, bad...no real character development, boring plot, predictable chain of events, and not even any believable relationships. Don't waste your time.

OK Vampire Fantasy

I though this book sounded good so I got it. The idea is Anna Strong is a Bounty Hunter that gets into trouble with a vampire that they were hunting, not knowing he was a vampire. She is attacked and is changed. She learns the hard way about those that hunt her kind, falls for another vampire, and tries to adjust without letting the humans in her life know that she is the undead.

It was an OK book, I seriously though about selling it after I was done. But I knew that it was the first in a series. I kept it when I found out the series does get better. Just remember it is the first one, don't expect too much out of it.

Not Very Good
Customer Rating:  Score = 2 Score = 2 Score = 2 Score = 2 Score = 2
I really don't like the main character, Ana Strong. Ana just strikes me as an idiot. There are the main characters that are impulsive but over all intelligent and realize their mistakes quickly. Ana Strong is not this way. She does things that just don't make sense and she isn't smart enough to figure out she has made the wrong choice 'til much later. I realize she has to come to terms with becoming a vampire but how many times do people have to ask you "how long have you been a vampire?" because of something you did or didn't know before you take at least some of the supernatural creatures that have been offering to tutor you up on their offers. I fail to see how she has managed to have a successful career as a bounty hunter without ending up dead.

I have read the 2nd book in the series hoping that the series gets better and it really hasn't even though some of the secondary characters have become more interesting.

good first book

This was a good first in the Anna Strong book series.
I had read some of the others first and so this one had a little more information that i needed.
This was a entertaining book, Anna gets irritating sometimes that she just does not "get it."
She needs to tell her partner about her life, and needs to talk to williams about her "change."
The thing it did find confusing especaially after reading all the others is that the characters said she is "the One" The One what??
The one to kill Avery or just something else we do not know.
Anyhow, i enjoyed it and loved Casper too.
