The Chairman has been slaughtered, along with Hell’s first almost-successful attempt at creating an Anti-Christ, using Carlos Rivera’s body-double. Dante’s son has also been vanquished. Now the evil Lilith sits on Dante’s old throne, a prize won in her negotiations with Cain. She is The Vampire Council’s new Chairwoman—and Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. All Lilith needs is Damali’s newly discovered angelic powers to allow her evil progeny to walk through the veil between worlds and usher in the true Anti-Christ. Damali and her crew enter a desperate race against time to stop Lilith—even if doing so brings the Neteru Councils out of the clouds and into the Biblical Holy Lands…and kicks off the Armageddon. too bad so said | Customer Rating: | I took a break from reading the series thinking i could continue with fresh eyes...wrong...thank goodness this book was borrowed.
The level of maturity between Damali and Carlos is non existent.
She worries too much about nothing. She used to be a strong character, no she is just wimpy and typical.
Tired of deciphering between all of the slang, was good in the beginning but as one matures...you get the point.
The story is now feeling forced.
The author needed a better editor. If this is being made into a movie hopeful that will be better.
Maybe I will continue, maybe not, I will just borrow those books. | language | Customer Rating: | | I couldn't finish this book. In fact I barely got through the second chapter. I realize that she was trying to create a certain atmosphere with the language. But the slang was so prevalent in this book that unless you already spoke this slang to the point of thinking in this slang it slowed the story down to a crawl. I saw that many people seem to enjoy these books, but be warned that if english is your first language this book is nothing but a frustration. | Always a pleasure to read! | Customer Rating: | | I never know where to begin with my review for one of L.A. Bank's newest installments of the Vampire Huntress Series. She always manages to blow me away. While this book was not my favorite book, the ongoing story line continually captivates me. Her love scenes are unlike any other I have ever read. They are never tiresome, repetitive or boring. She never uses the same language to describe them. Her characters are fully fleshed out. Granted, there are a lot of characters to keep up with, yet if you have read all the books in this series, you will not have any problem keeping up. Her description, whether in the various locations she introduces or the highly charged battle scenes to the costumes of the Neteru Queens, is untouchable by any other author I have read. I feel as if I am right there with the characters. My only complaint with this book and a couple of installments before this book was that the author feels she has to integrate each and every Guardian team member in the dialogue. Frankly, this gets to be a little confusing with each character having to have a voice in whatever scene is unfolding. Other than that one small fault, in my opinion, these books continue to captivate and thrill me and I look forward to each and every one. I will sadly miss them when the series ends. | Legends at there best | Customer Rating: | L.A. Banks is a Masterful storyteller. I loved this book. This was the 9th in the series. There was alot of humor in this book. The Queen's kick some Lilith booty. Its a shame they don't lay her a** down. The team have a united front in this book. It kicks off the Armageddeon for the next 3 books. Looking forward to the next book. | The Really Cursed | Customer Rating: | | The book starts off with action in a true den of sin, guns blazing, vamps dying and props to the men. They feel their testosteren flowing, but it isn't the regular type of machismo, this is the "holy" kick-butt type of machismo. The women of this piece are shocked and amazed that the men would go into the heart of Lilith's home, kill her pet and get out. "Lou" (short for Lucifer) is shocked by their boldness. There is a mole in hell, Eve and her group do damage and the Antichrist is born in a place I never would have guessed. Read and enjoy. |
