The Everything New Teacher Book recognizes that during the first couple of years in the classroom, teachers need effective suggestions on how to have a positive and lasting impact on their students. From the rules and tools of a successful learning environment to advice on behavior management, The Everything New Teacher Book is the perfect guide for teachers during their first or second year - and veteran teachers making a grade change. EASY TO READ AND EVEN EASIER TO APLLY WHEN U ARE A NEW TEACH | Some good ideas | Customer Rating: | | Geared for upper grades/ secondary. Not really meant for elementary teachers, due to content is going in the direction of older kids and how to deal with those types of situations. Just my opinion. Find it in the library and save the $$ for something different. | First Time Teacher | Customer Rating: | | Recepient very happy with my choice. She will be new to teaching in the Fall, 2008 and is excited to adopt these suggestions to her first classroom. | Great for Secondary Teacher - not so much for Elementary level | Customer Rating: | | I am thinking about going into the teaching field at the elementary level so for that aspect, this book doesn't really help. However it does help overall with the fear of becoming a teacher because I think every teacher has the same fears. The classroom, the students staring at them, the administration, etc. She does give some tips that would work with both elementary and secondary but these are very few. It really is for the secondary level. There was nothing in the title to suggest that the book was exclusive to the secondary level. I probably will keep this book mainly for a reference if I ever do decide to teach at the secondary level. For those of you only contemplating the elementary level, look elsewhere because you will be disappointed when all she talks about is writing out "referrals" for the disruptive teens. | Amazing book | Customer Rating: | | Being a new teacher later in life really scared me to death, but this book helped to smooth the edges as I enter the classroom as a teacher for the first time. I am very happy that I ordered this book before I started to teach, it gave me some new ideas on connecting with the students and dealing with crises. I recommend it for all new teachers to read before standing up in front of that first classroom of students! |
