Lady in distress vs. bachelor detective
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5
We finally meet the mysterious Tate Monroe. After earlier books with Molly Shipman and Laura Marshall we meet the 3rd college roommate from Maggie Davis's roominghouse. Tate is being stalked and it is up to Detective Nick Bennett to protect her. Like many stories Nick falls for the 'lady in distress'. Tate is a cautious lady. After years of torment by a stalker as well as other relationship problems Tate is weary of trusting any man. Nick realizes this. He works to win her trust. It is a gradual process but in the end Nick is triumphant. I really like how the author wrote the changes in the relationship between Tate and Nick. It happened gradually, naturally, not the unrealistic way common in many books. In the end Nick saves Tate and her son from the stalker as well as from a life alone. I thought this was a great book.
