Mega-bestselling author Ken Blanchard and celebrated business leaders Don Hutson and Ethan Willis present an inspiring story that reveals the secrets to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
In THE ONE MINUTE ENTREPRENEUR, Ken Blanchard (coauthor of the #1 bestselling business classic The One Minute Manager), Don Hutson, CEO of U.S. Learning, and Ethan Willis, CEO of Prosper Learning, tell the inspiring story of one man’s challenges in creating his own business. Through a powerful and engaging narrative, we confront many of the typical problems all entrepreneurs face in starting up their business, from finding new sources of revenue to securing the commitment of their people and the loyalty of their customers. More important, we learn the secrets to becoming a successful entrepreneur, including how to build a firm foundation, how to ensure a steady cash flow, and how to create legendary service. In addition, the book offers invaluable advice, delivered through One Minute Insights, from such entrepreneurs and thinkers as Sheldon Bowles, Peter Drucker, Michael Gerber, and Charlie “Tremendous” Jones.
Today, in the midst of the largest entrepreneurial surge in U.S. history, four out of five small businesses continue to fail. THE ONE MINUTE ENTREPRENEUR offers businesspeople and would-be entrepreneurs a treasure trove of wisdom on how to think, act, and succeed in creating and sustaining a business, no matter what their industry. some good, some common sense reiterated | Customer Rating: | Short and sweet:
Pros: A relatively quick read Some good pointers at the end of each chapter A refresh of common sense
Cons: The story that was told to capture the essence of being an entrepreneur seemed unrealistic and bored me to tears. It was probably difficult to write this story. Some of the Rich Dad/Poor Dad books also use a story to get the point across and it works much better in those books.
Bottom line: skip to the ends of the chapter to read the bullet points (the good stuff) and you'll be finished reading this in "about a minute." | I trust the authors and I love the message! | Customer Rating: | "One-Minute" has become a learning model that the world loves. Two reasons for this are: the story format makes you part of the lesson and the distilled wisdom in each lesson is both profound and simple.

Jim Cathcart, author of The Acorn Principle and Relationship Selling. The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself The Eight Competencies of Relationship Selling: How to Reach the Top 1% in Just 15 Extra Minutes a Day | John | Customer Rating: | | The One Minute Entrepreneur was a fantastic book. It give great insight into what it takes to excape the corporate world and live your dream of owning your own business. I work with Entrpreneurs every day and the pitfalls they talk about are right on target. | I'm embarassed for Blanchard... | Customer Rating: | | I agree with the other one-star reviews - Blanchard's "one minute manager" was a fantastic book - a completely new way of managing presented in a thoughtful, concise manner. His other books (Gung Ho, Raving Fans, etc.) are also well done, so I was VERY dissapointed with this text. The characters are hokey, and the "plot" is very cliche. Additionally this book does not add anything to the body of material that is out there regarding entreprenrship. The tagline "The secret to creating and maintianing a successful business" is much better illustrated through Tim Ferriss' "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich". | Great work.....AGAIN!!! | Customer Rating: | Twenty years ago I read a "quick read" in the cornerstone of the "One Minute..." series; "The One-Minute Manager". Ken Blanchard's book took a so - so manager, and guided him into a successful leader of staff.
Now 20 years later, just as I am jumping out on my own, Ken puts another guidepost out there for me to follow. This is a must read for anyone that has the dream, drive, and goal of being in business for themselves. Thanks Ken for all the great books over the years, you have made a difference in many lives with your work. |
