I had to search for this book, because all I could find in stores was "the New Real Book." This real book is well edited, practical and of course in the key of C (for guitar). I appreciate the simplicity of this book as well, which makes for a very elegant and useful collection of jazz standards. I would not settle for one of the newer collections of jazz standards such as "the New Real Book," which is clearly named to trick musicians who are looking for this book.

This book is excellent for extending your chord vocabulary, sight reading skills, and improves skills while you learn some really great jazz standards! If you want to become really good, get THE REAL BOOK!

A Necessity for Jazz Musicians	Customer Rating:
Put simply, if you want to play jazz, you need to know the tunes in this book. My guitar teachers have given mixed reviews of some of the arrangements of the tunes, but nonetheless, the Real Book is a must-have for any serious jazz musician.

Accurate and easy	Customer Rating:
I am very pleased with The Real Book, 6th edition. It is clearly formatted, the chords are all proper, and the song selection is diverse. This is a great book for newbies to jazz and seasoned six string vets as well. I would not hesitate to recommend it to either.
