The kidnapping is long past. Janie is relieved that life seems to be settling down but she misses her boyfriend Reeve Shields, who is away at college at Boston. As for Reeve, college life seems overwhelming; when the opportunity for fame in a late-night gig at the school radio station proves irresistible, he finds himself spilling Janie's story over the airwaves. Reeve is so sure Janie will never discover what's making his broadcast such a hit that he doesn't stop himself.

When you read this book, hard to put it away because I am trying to figure out what really happen in her past and more. It surprises me.

caroline b cooney is an aweome writer who knowsThe Voice on the Radio how to get you hooked to a series this book, the voice on the radio, is a great follow up for the past two books the face on the milk crton and what janie found. she really knows how to capture the attention and imagination of persons our age.

Janie and her sister, Jodie, and one of her twin brothers, Brian, went to Boston so Jodie can look at the college there for her. Reeve also went to that college and he DJ'd for a college radio station. He tells about Janie's personal life and how he felt and about her kidnapping. Janie heard one of his "janies" that he was telling and it happened to be the worst one he told about her. Janie and Reeve broke up and Jodie was sad because she was hoping to go there so she and Reeve could see Janie when she came to visit and Reeve could also help her find her way around the college and the dorms. Janie visited her real family in New Jersey and she soon began to feel close to them and the only person she told about her and Reeve was her real mother. In the end, Janie became friends with Reeve, but it didn't mean much to her.

After having read the two books leading up to The Voice on the Radio, The Face on the Milk Carton and Whatever Happened to Janie, I am still eager for more of Caroline B. Cooney's Janie Series! Each book is better than the one before! As "Voice of Youth Advocates" says Voice on the Radio is "a real page-turner" the book lives up to its multi-genre quality of mystery, romance, and drama including many climaxes in the story. These numerous moments of intesity get my heart pounding and my eyes opened wide. Just when you think poor Janie Johnson has found time to breathe, betrayal from a loved one catches her off-gaurd. Fortunately, Janie Johnson or "Jennie Spring" has two loving families to help her through it all, but how much can her families take? Sooner or later Janie will have no where to run to or a place to hide...
