Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks comes the long-awaited follow-up to his classic tale of enduring love, The Notebook. After 30 years, Wilson Lewis, son-in-law to Noah and Allie (of The Notebook fame), is forced to admit that the romance has gone out of his marriage. Despite the shining example of his in-laws' 50-year love affair, Wilson himself is a man unable to express how he truly feels. With the distractions of his daughter's upcoming wedding he is forced to realize how close he is to losing his own wife Jane. But if Wilson is sure of anything, it's this: His love for his wife has only intensified over the years, and he wants nothing more than to make their marriage work. Now, with the memories of his in-laws' inspiring life together as his guide, Wilson pledges to find a way to make his wife fall in love with him...again. Great typical Sparks novel | Customer Rating: | The Wedding After reading The Notebook I became an avid Nicholas Sparks fan. When I read there was a sequel I bought it with not much hope that it could be anything as good as The Notebook. I was pleasantly surprised and found it highly enjoyable. | Before I buy! | Customer Rating: | | I want this book, but I am so hesitant to get it. I LOVED The Notebook. Loved it! But this sequel is not about Allie and Noah's life (from where it left off in The Notebook). I want to know about Allie and Noah's life from the time she chose him to them winding up in the senior home. I feel like Nicolas has left a huge gap; us knowing them from the start of their relationship and the end of it, all in the same movie! What happened in between? Their wedding, the births of their children, etc. They had such an intense relationship, I just want to know their lives together. This was too much a generation jump for me to be a sequel. | Beautiful , Touching Story | Customer Rating: | I thought when I read "The Notebook", I had read the most beautiful and touching story ever, but this one tops it! You will not be able to put it down, and by all means get plenty of tissues ready. A huge thank you to Nicholas Sparks for this wonderful story. This is a book I will read over and over again.
| Good! | Customer Rating: | If you enjoyed this book, you will also like: Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life's Greatest Lesson. It has a similar "lesson" to it.
Enjoy your readings! | Way too gooey, sappy, lovesick romantic for my tastes | Customer Rating: | | I could not get into this book... around page 85 I started speed reading. This book is so overly sentimental. Admittedly I am not a big romantic type so this book may appeal to some, but it definitely wasn't for me. |
